Council Hall Cleanup

Thanks to GK Steve Mendoza, Jim Arand, Mark Essman, Fred Leyda, Terry Buquet, Mike and Henry Giese, Grant and Son Hall, and Robert Cooler for coming out and spending some quality time at the Hall cleaning up the yard on Saturday, 21 November.  Many hands make for short work.  Hopefully, Henry will let us know when he's ready to like the burn pile so we can all go toast a marshmallow.  God Bless, Vivat Jesus!

PS: Don't forget the Council Christmas Social is coming up soon on Sunday, 13 December.

Council Thanksgivng Social

A huge thanks to all who made our Thanksgiving Social a great event.  Brother Knights, Columbiettes, and family all joined together to break bread, and raise a little money.  Special thanks to Fred Leyda who made magical hors-d'oeuvres in the bar area, Debra Sweeney and her sister Columbiettes for battling the kitchen duties, and of course Brother Mike Giese who organized the event.  Through the generosity of everyone there we raised $650 dollars to purchase "Coats for Kids"; a Knights of Columbus program designed to get coats to children who are in need.  This year we will have enough money to purchase four boxes, 48 coats total.  Here are some more pictures of the event taken by our Grand Knight, Steve Mendoza.  Finally, a reminder about our Christmas social which will be held on Sunday, 13 Dec; more information coming soon.  God Bless, Vivat Jesus

Veterans/Patriotic Events

Thanks to Sir Knight David Robles and the Fourth Degree Assembly, the flags at St Peter's Catholic School have been replaced.  Sir Knight David Robles donated National and State all weather flags while the Assembly purchased a new lanyard and hardware.  The Assembly also had a great turnout for the Veterans Day parade.  Brothers Gonz, Jim Range, Robert Cooler, Terry Buquet, and Roberto Songco traveled the parade route with all the colors, patriotic signs, and pro-life decorations while Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" was played for all the spectators to enjoy.

Life Chain

Members of Council 5026 joined with parishioners from St Peter's Catholic Church and other local churches to participate in the annual "Life Chain" prayer event on Sunday, 25 October, in front of Beaufort City Hall on Boundary Street.  This public prayer service is held in over 1,900 locations throughout the United States each year to raise awareness and to pray for an end to abortion in this country and around the world.  Please pray for the end of abortion and consider joining us next year.  Additional photos taken by Brother Gonz can be viewed by selecting this link.  God Bless!

Project HOPE Fundraisers

The Council recently held a spaghetti dinner and a collection outside of Walmart to raise money for the Project HOPE Foundation to help the disabled members of our society.  A huge thanks to all who participated in the dinner and the collection effort at Walmart "Beach".  Thanks especially to Brother Mark Essman who has been organizing the Project HOPE efforts for the last several years.  He and Talley will soon be part timers here in Beaufort; so, we need a new Project HOPE manager before he leaves in December.    God Bless, Vivat Jesus!
